Have a read of our tips on the 'Tips tab' to help you enjoy washing up with an EKOH dish wash soap bar.

For a great cleaning result, we recommend you wash in warm water and pair the dish soap with our EKOH Dish Brush, Scrubber or your EKOH Swedish Dishcloth

  • Store the EKOH block of Dish Soap in a soap dish where it can quickly dry out.
  • Scrape off or wipe the dishes to remove excess grease and food before washing.
  • Wet your brush or cloth and rub on the dish-washing soap block to create suds. (Repeat as needed to refresh suds.) Wash with the dishcloth or brush and rinse well.
  •  You can also leave your dish soap block in the warm water for about 20 seconds before putting the dishes into the sink, swirl around to get soapy suds, remove, place in your soap dish and get washing.
  •  To ensure you optimise the use of your dish soap, store it out of the water.

Kitchen Dishwashing and cleaning tips:

  • You can also use your Dish Soap Block to clean your sinks in the kitchen or laundry.
  •  Use it to clean the dirty stove, oven top, and countertop surfaces*!
  •  Great for removing labels off jars to reuse your glass jars - apply with the brush and scrub off.
  • The packing box can be composted at home or shredded into your worm farm.
  •  Keep the block out of the water to air dry and don't try and cut it into smaller pieces.
  • Use our EKOH hemp and sisal soap bag to store your soap and soap bits, and hang it up to keep it dry.

Use for Cleaning Surfaces

You can make your own Surface Cleaning Spray using the soap block and reduce plastic in your kitchen.

Suggested Ratio: 1 part soap: 50 parts water ( test on a small part of the surface you want to clean )

  • Add a 1/50 ratio of distilled hot water to grated soap in a container
  • Let it sit until the grated flakes dissolve. It will form a natural cloudy cleaning liquid
  • Use this spray to clean kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

Using as a Laundry Soap

For Hand washing

  • Grate 1 teaspoon directly into a tub of warm water, wait until it melts & add your delicates to soak.
  • Use the soap bar as a stain remover stick - rub directly onto stubborn stains!

Cleaning Tricks & Tips: Great for travelling or camping to save plastic bottle clutter and waste on your holiday. Cut the block down so you can use it for your dishes, washing your clothes and cleaning surfaces.

I am a convert

I bought the dishwash block because I am trying to reduce plastic in our kitchen. I have now been using it for about 6 weeks and it is fantastic. Took me a week or so to get used to how to use it - with my bamboo brush is best, but I am a convert. Will you be selling a holder for the soap as this would be really usefull ?

Thanks for the feedback, Shelly. So happy you are enjoying the dish block and are working to reduce plastic in your kitchen - well done, it's a few steps every day!
Yes, I am looking at a holder for the soaps and hope to have an eco option available in the new year.
